The Academy of Gastronomy Japan’s (AGJ) primary mission is to support the advancement of Japanese cuisine on an international level from a historical, cultural and scientific perspective.
We are emphasizing on promoting "Sustainable Gastronomy".
-To advance the international exchange of culinary cultures by providing access to information regarding Japan's culinary culture, its regional ingredients and culinary techniques
-To introduce and promote restaurants in Japan on an international level
-To preserve and develop regional culinary cultures within Japan
- To promote an understanding of "gastronomy" as it relates to people's lives
- To promote Japanese cuisine as a comprehensive art form and to conduct further scientific research on its umami, nutritional and health components
- To promote the advancement of the Japanese culinary industry by conferring gastronomic awards
- Establishing a support system to promote Japanese cuisine
- Preserving the safety and quality of Japanese cuisine
